The Copenhagen Airport, or CPH, has released that it witnessed a substantial inflow of travelers in the month of November in the current year.

Consequently, the airport hosted a total of 1,957,215 passengers who were either departing from or arriving at its terminals.

The relevant authorities further released a statement, reporting that the popularity as a hub of the Copenhagen Airport has significantly increased.

This was evidenced by an impressive number of no less than 350,000 passengers who were transferred in the same month.

As a result, it marked an increase of 60,000 in comparison to the corresponding period of the previous year.

A surge

The CPH further reported that it has experienced a significant surge in transfer passengers from a couple of countries.

These include airports in Norway, Denmark, and Sweden, which consistently transfer people from their countries to Copenhagen.

Furthermore, in the first eleven months of the current year, the volume of transfer passengers at the airport in question went up by around 40%.

This increase was in comparison to the first eleven months of the previous year.

As per the airport, this percentage increase translates to more than 4.4 million transfer journeys of passengers.

A majority of these transfers from the three countries were mainly attributed to passengers flying with SAS.

The siwft increase in the number of transfer passengers hosted by the Copenhagen Airport is mainly due to the rising appeal of its routes.

The authorities take pride in connecting Copenhagen to various airports located in Canada and the United States, which has attracted a large number of passengers.

Winter program

The Copenhagen Airport has come up with a winter program to facilitate the ease of its passengers.

Consequently, it has introduced routes that will take travelers to various destinations located across North America.

In addition, the authorities of the airport have boasted a total of nine routes, spanning over eight cities, located in Canada and the USA.

In the words of the Chief Commercial Officer of Copenhagen Airport, Peter Krogsgaard, the routes to Canada and the USA have been performing significantly well this year.

He went on to add that the country has had to add various routes in addition to the ones introduced in 2019.

In his words, numerous passengers from Norway and Sweden are also using Copenhagen as a transfer point to get to the other two countries. The same is true for people traveling in the opposite direction.

Festive season

Peter further pointed out that due to the upcoming festive season, the Copenhagen Airport is gearing up for a bustling period in December.

As of now, London is the top favorite location for travelers, with more than 21 daily departures leaving from Copenhagen. Thus, the airport has released several flight options for the ease of visitors.

The Chief Commercial Officer added that London is unsurprisingly popular throughout the year as well.

He said that this trend further intensifies in the month of December, with a large number of people choosing to indulge in weekend getaways.
