The tourism office has further made several comparisons between the forecasted data for January 2024 and the available information from January 2023.

Consequently, Turespana highlighted that the primary issuing markets of these planned seats are Italy, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

These three countries were also prevalent in their number of planned seats in the previous year and have been performing well in the current year as well.

As of now, the UK has reported a total increase of 5.9% in seats planned for travelers, and Germany has revealed a hike of 12.2%.

The most significant surge has been noted in Italy, which revealed that there has been a growth of 20.7% in the seats designated for visitors to Spain.

On this note, Jordi Hereu, the Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism, stated that the forecasted planned seats confirm the strength of the travel and tourism sector in Spain.

He added that the current data predictions have paved the way for a fruitful year similar to 2023. In addition, the country has already surpassed the figures it was recording back in 2019, before the pandemic.
