The capital of Czech Republic, Prague, has seen a significant increase in its travel and tourism sector lately.
It especially recorded a notable surge in the sector in the first three quarters of the current year.
Consequently, the total number of visitors to the capital stood at 5.45 million visitors. This led to a significant surge of around 28% in comparison to the corresponding period of the previous year.

In addition, the majority of tourists to the capital city arrived in the city from various international destinations.
This figure stood at 78%, which is an ode to the enduring global appeal of Prague among foreign tourists.
The remaining 22% of the total number of tourists to the city were from other locations within the country.
As per local media reports, the primary highlight during the year was an increase in the number of tourists arriving in the city from Asia.
The reports further disclosed that the number of Asian travelers to Prague has almost doubled in the first three quarters of 2023.
This increase is mainly attributed to the launch of direct flights, flying in from Taipei and Seoul, from the 1st of July.
On this note, the number of tourists arriving from South Korea went up by 287% and stood at a total of 110,276 individuals.
Meanwhile, visitors from Taiwan reported an increase of 1,091%, leading to a figure of 46,293 people.
Locations
Where the spots within the city are concerned, especially those managed by the Prague City Tourism, the Petrin Lookout Tower stood out the most.
It was the most-visited location in Prague and managed to draw a total of 606,768 tourists in the first three months of 2023 alone.
This figure reflected a year-on-year rise of more than 74,000 individuals coming in to the city from various locations.
As of now, Prague City Tourism has announced plans to further bolster its travel and tourism industry.
Consequently, it will be strengthening its cooperation with Czech Tourism and Vaclav Havel Airport.
In the upcoming year, it will be paying special attention to the Touchpoint platform, thereby increasing support for long-haul flights.
